The Public Works Department provides service-oriented functions including, but not limited to, engineering, including inspection of private and public improvements. Activities include: Inspects new construction, maintenance, and repairs on City owned streets, drainage and sewer systems, and any related facilities. Reviews plans and inspects construction in progress; tracks progress and compliance, documents, proposes solutions, reports any issues or variance to the contractor, City Engineer, health department, and other stakeholders. Serves as a liaison between engineers, contractors, and property owners. Examines road repairs completed by utility companies or third parties for compliance with plans and specifications.
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Five years of experience in road construction, sewer construction, or related field. Experience performing general maintenance work. A valid Ohio Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with tanker endorsement or the ability to obtain within 6 months of employment.
