This is responsible managerial and administrative work supervising various maintenance staff and projects for the City. Work involves planning, scheduling, and organizing work projects and crews, ensuring job safety and completion, interacting with the public, inventory maintenance, and design and specification development in compliance with policies and procedures. This position will oversee Street Maintenance and Fleet Maintenance staff and projects. The position also manages the buildings and infrastructure of the Public Service complex and associated contracts. The employee reports to the Director of Public Service. The successful candidate must have the ability to deal effectively with the public and make appropriate decisions regarding prioritizing work projects, maintenance emergencies, and disciplinary actions in compliance with city policy. Supervision is exercised over maintenance supervisors and workers. Work is reviewed through daily meetings and review of work accomplished for adherence to standards and policies and procedures.
