The City of Solon has an opening in their Engineering Department for the position of Assistant City Engineer. The Assistant City Engineer will report to the City Engineer who is the Director of Solon’s Engineering Department.
The responsibilities of the Assistant City Engineer include providing professional, administrative and technical assistance to the City Engineer in the planning, directing, and coordinating of design and construction projects for the City. In addition, this position is responsible for performing duties in overseeing construction/renovation of structures and facilities such as roads, bridges, pipelines, and water and sewage systems.
Requirements for this position include a Bachelor of Science degree with a specialization in Civil Engineering. In addition, the successful applicant must have an Ohio Professional Engineering License.
This position is slotted at Grade L on Solon’s wage scale which offers a beginning salary range of $65,250.11, and a mid-point of $81,562.64. In addition, the City provides full-time employees with benefits including medical, dental and vision; life insurance; sick time; vacation and select paid holidays. Full-time employees participate in the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS).
