PAY RANGE: $16.52 – $21.02 per hour
EXAMINATION CUT-OFF SCORE: 70%
This position performs skilled mechanical work in the maintenance and repair of specialized machinery at the Waste Water Treatment Plant. Work involves various building, ground and equipment maintenance tasks. Duties require working outdoors in all weather conditions and performing light to heavy manual labor in tight quarters such as excavations, climbing in and out of excavations, lift stations, digesters, and working in and around sewer gases. Duties also involve operating trucks and other equipment in the performance of duties.
This position requires high school graduation or equivalent; knowledge of, and experience with mechanical maintenance work including repair and installation of equipment, and of safety hazards and precautions; ability to read and follow plans and specifications for repair and installation of equipment; ability to perform basic maintenance tasks and learn more complicated maintenance procedures; ability to work under established safety requirements and to perform hard physical labor under varying weather conditions. This position also requires possession of a Class B Ohio CDL with tanker and air brake endorsements. (Newly hired employees will be given 90 working days to obtain the CDL, if necessary.)
CREDIT FOR MILITARY SERVICE: Applicants who have been honorably discharged from active duty in the armed forces of the United States are eligible to receive an additional percentage of their cumulative passing score. Proof (i.e., a copy of the Honorable Discharge certificate, or the DD-214 specifying an honorable discharge) must be submitted with the application. NO CREDIT WILL BE GIVEN IF PROOF IS SUBMITTED AFTER THE FILING DEADLINE.
