The Butler County Engineer’s Office (BCEO), Butler County, Ohio, is seeking applicants for a Storm Water Inspector. The Storm Water Inspector will work under the general direction and supervision of the Development Services / Storm Water Manager. The Storm Water Inspector will be required to investigate, evaluate facts and data, enforce and maintain compliance of Butler County’s Storm Water Management Plan as part of the State of Ohio’s National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Phase II permit program. Work consists of on-site field inspections to determine compliance with the District’s Storm Water Management Plan.

The successful candidate must have an associate’s degree or any such combination of education, experience, and training as may be acceptable to the hiring authority. The Storm Water Inspector must have a valid Ohio Class B Commercial Driver’s License with airbrake endorsement and fewer than 6 points. The successful candidate must either have or attain this CDL within 120 days of employment.
The Storm Water Inspector is required to be knowledgeable in the principles and practice of erosion and sediment controls, possess the skills to assess all conditions at the construction site that could impact storm water quality, and assess the effectiveness of any sediment and erosion control measures selected to control the quality of storm water discharges from the construction activity.

The Storm Water Inspector is required to be knowledgeable with the planning, review, installation, maintenance, inspection, and reporting of Erosion and Sediment Control practices.

The successful candidate must have knowledge in planning, reviewing, and modifying Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP) associated with Ohio’s Environmental Protection Agency requirements.
